A Japanese Christmas at Sushi Ko

Happy 2012 everyone!

Now, at the beginning of a new year, we all look back thinking what we did good and what we did bad in the past one; what good, or not so good things happened to us, and what we want to improve in the year we have ahead of us.
But I think the most important it's to look back and say: the past year I gained one more friend, I met one more interesting person, I learned something new.
I'm happy to tell you that I did that in 2011, and not only once.
Origami, as always, lead me to meet new people and helped me create a new form of communication. This is how I gained an entire family in Denmark, I met passionate origami people from the Romanian Origami Forum and I got to collaborate with people who, even though didn't have origami as a hobby, they trusted this form of art and decided to use it in their projects and campaigns.

Such an example is Simona Alexoaei and Monica Pescaru, who wanted to bring in the Japanese Restaurant Sushi Ko the magic of an Origami Christmas Tree.

Here is the result:

Secom - origami, coffee, lots of smiles

On 27th October, Secom organized a very cozy and joyful event, at Van Gogh Cafe, in Bucharest.
Over 40 guests sat down and enjoyed a nice cup of coffee, surrounded by origami decorations and pieces of paper that were soon to become colorful cranes.
I left Van Gogh Cafe with the feeling of a wonderful experience. I enjoyed collaborating with Secom's team, made of young and enthusiastic people, and I enjoyed meeting their guests, who were happy and willing to experience the art of paper folding.

More origami in Denmark

I've left Denmark for quite some time now, but I'm remembering with a lot of joy all the folding we've done there.
Despite the "casual folding" that we've done whenever we felt like it, I also held origami courses once a week:

And at the end, they all received diplomas, in the name of our Origami Association. :)

Origami in Denmark

I've been in Denmark for 3 months now, and of course, I brought origami with me. I've been folding almoust everyday since I'm here, and I've been spreading the origami virus around, so now many of my collegues started playing with the paper as well, which gives me an extraordinary feeling. :)

Here are some photos from our hostel:
